Hi there

 

... is it just me or are some slide show styles not playing all photos within the folder?

 

E.g. "Origami" is repeating after like ~ 50 photos

There are two more issues with the Photo slide show:

a) During a slide show, some (random) photos are not shown, instead, there is just a black screen, usually followed by several oder black screens until a photo is displayed. I know, that the slide show went on because when you exit the slide show mode, it jumps to the last whown image - which may be one not being displayed. Using Baa's mod from https://forums.plex.tv/topic/84837-photo-rotation-exif/#entry491388 prevents photos from not being shown, but with

{{IMAGEURL(Media/Part/key::1280:720)}}

all photos (regardless slide show or not) are displayed very pixelated - so, the mod does not work anymore (rotation seems to work without the mod now).

b ) It happend to me, that in the middle of a slide show, it jumped back several photos and photos already showed are showd a 2nd time (of course random mode is off).

Any one is encountering similar issues?

When I'm using resized or small photos, it is working without showing black screens.

... the problems mentioned above still exists - now, even photo rotation upon exif information is broken again...

are these issues an issue? :)

Well, if those issues hurt you, I guess they ARE an issue.

We haven't had much time to look into, though. But be assured, we keep all issues on a list.

As for the "pixelation" when transcoding your pictures - try increasing the transcoders output size. Like

{{IMAGEURL(Media/Part/key::1920:1080)}}

I really wonder, why aTV might have picked up the EXIF rotational information at one point, and disregards it again? Are you sure you checked the same pics/same process of displaying them?

I've already tried this with no effect. It's not a 720 vs. 1080 pixelation, it's more like a full screen thumb-image...

So adding the line above does not do the trick anymore...

The built in Apple TV slideshows repeat after 50 images or so too. It’s pretty crappy for photos. If I want to run a slideshow with lots of pics I airplay from my Mac running iphoto.

I also tested it with the above posted commit, but the problem with random black screens during slide shows still exists. Any ideas on that? Thanks.
