Hello, I have been a plex user for a few years now. This week I decided to buy a lifetime plex pass because I wanted a few of the pass features, namely photo upload function.
First, my setup is:
- Raspberry Pi 3 with DietPi and plex media server (up to date) with 64Gb sd card (Plex database is on this sd card)
- Netgear readyNas Nv+
I made a photo folder and putted some photos in it. It works as expected (besides not recognizing properly the dates). But when trying to set up photo upload I found 2 problems I need help with:
1- The home user account (myself) don’t have the sync nor the photo upload right(from iOs) I didn’t found how to give the home user these rights.
2 - I did a friend invite to my wife and enabled photo upload, but plex can’t write to the NAS folder. What account uses plex ? What security should I apply on the NAS to the photos folder ?
Oki, my home account has currently rights to sync and upload, I’m not sure why, but it works now.
As for the NAS I did a folder with write rights to everyone. Now The photo upload begins, it creates a few zero bytes files (2014-11-29 19.24.22.JPG) and then it stops showing “Waiting to upload”
Nobody reading me ? I bought the Plex pass for this feature specifically and it’s not working.
I have the same issue and I use Windows 10 for the server and iOS for client. It’s been broken for me since November. Plex team works focuses on new features, camera upload is not a priority unfortunately
Well I bought the plex pass for the camera upload function, so they should repair it. Adding new features while the old features don’t work is not a wise plan. Also I’m surprised by the lack of official responses and support on these forums…
I have the same issue with Win 10 and IOS. Worked fine at first now just get “waiting to upload”. Plex is anyone looking into this issue?
It should be a priority. If photo management is not being addressed; There will be many unhappy subscribers and they will be vocal. Listen to the voices coming in or watch the money going out.
