So, I moved all of my photos and videos from google photos to plex. One thing I’m noticing is some (not all) of my photos and videos are not sorting correctly in the timeline. They show the correct date when I check the photo’s information for “captured time.” But some are sorted way off. Like the picture was taken in 2013 and the captured time shows the date in 2013 but it displays in the timeline as 2023 a few months ago. I saw a website that said there was a bug that was causing this problem and it was being patched, but that website article was from a few years ago. I have a way newer version of plex since that web article was written.
I just found a whole bunch of pictures that show my daughter born in 2009 instead saying she was born in 2007. But, the weird thing is it shows the exact date of my other daughter’s birthday… like it’s labeled as my daughter that was born in 2007 because it has that date in the timeline. But, when I select each picture and check the “captured time,” it shows the correct date of 2009. But, it doesn’t seem like a fluke or bug that it would just happen to show the wrong date of the exact day of her older sister’s birthday. So, it’s almost like something happened over the years with these photos that somehow the wrong date of my older daughter got entered in on these photos and the timeline is sorting based on that value and not the captured time value.
