I’m trying to watch ripped DVDs from my QNAP TVS-671 server on an Apple TV 4k. The picture quality is terrible, it stutters and skips fairly often no matter what settings I’ve tried. I have my Apple TV settings as follows: 4K SDR 60Hz, HDMI Out YCbCr, Chroma 4:4:4, Match Range & Frame Rate. I’m using an HDMI 2.0 good quality cable. I’ve tried to turn off Match settings for Frame Rate and Range. I’ve also tried different video settings such as Dolby Vision all the way down to 1080P 24Hz. I’m exhausted trying all these different settings with no results. When I hook up my old 4th Gen Apple TV the video plays beautifully. When I use my Roku Stick + it works beautifully. When I use the ATV 4K to watch Amazon Prime in UHD it plays perfectly. There is something wrong with Plex on the ATV 4K. I’ve resorted to using the crappy Roku to watch anything Plex. Any suggestions???
Ripped DVDs don’t have much to do with DVR/Live TV. Perhaps you meant to post this over here? https://forums.plex.tv/categories/apple-tv
What video codec and container are you ripping to?
