Running Plex Server Version: 4.34.2 on Windows
PLEX client is AppleTV 4k
I have one movie, it’s a 4k file REMUX mkv. It stutters while the audio plays fine. I’ve tried multiple version of the file (all 4k, all REMUX) and it does the same thing on all of them, but only on my Apple TV 4ks, not on my windows direct play from the PLEX server. No other movie I have does this.
Is there someplace on PLEX or with Tautulli where I can diagnose why this happens?
For a start you can look at the Now Playing dashboard (e.g. to verify if the video is playing / streaming directly or if it’s being transcoded.
Looked via PLEX Activity:
Video: 4K (HEVC Main 10 HDR)
–> Direct Stream
Audio English (TrueHD 7.1)
–> FLAC - Transcode
Bandwidth: around 118Mbps
CPU :10% utilization
RAM: Around 5% utilization
And the transcode is THROTTLED
Which Windows? Windows Server 2019?
