The PIP is not working on my iPhone (only for the Plex app). I have uninstalled the Plex app and reinstalled it, did not fix the issue.
I do have it turned on in the Plex app setting.
PIP is working on my iPad.
Is anyone else having this issue? If so have you been able to fix it.
Auto PIP only works when the “old player” is used (Plex settings → advanced). Otherwise you can manually enable PIP using the button near the top right during playback.
Using the Old Player did fix the auto PIP but still seems like a bug to me.

Thank you for the info. Seems like Apple should upgrade the native player. I will keep using the new player and manually start PIP.
