PIP stops working after screen timeout

Player Version#: 8.5.1.19778 (Android 10, Samsung One UI 2.1, S4 tablet)

When watching something on the android Plex app, if the screen ever times out, picture-in-picture stops working. The video pauses and the app minimizes when switching apps or going to the home screen. It never starts working again until the app is force stopped or the device is rebooted.

Also happens on Pixel 3XL, Android 10, for at least a year. Doesn’t seem to be an issue with YouTube, Firefox, or other PIP apps I’ve tried.

Known bug. Fixed in the 8.6.0 beta.
