Plans to support more than 2 tuners?

I have an Hauppauge WinTV-quadHD 1609 card, which has 4 tuners, but obviously plex only supports two. Are there any plans to support more? Is there a workaround? I added the DVR twice, and have two instances, but it still refuses to record more than two programs at once .

What version of Plex Media Server do you have installed?

The latest build on Win 10 Education. System: Intel Core i7-4790K, 16GB RAM. Win 10 Education version, which I get through work, is actually one of the most full featured versions of Windows. Not sure it’s missing anything except some server stuff. Not that it makes any difference.

Not sure what you mean by “obviously” as with the past few releases I’m recording on 9 tuners (3 HDHR Primes) at once. . . .

So can you give us the exact version and maybe post some logs for the experts to go thru?

I’m not sure what I mean by obviously. Perhaps I mean “apparently” as that’s all I can see. As I said, I’m very interested in the workaround, if there is one, and any links to said info would be greatly appreciated, as all my searching has come up fruitless. My Google-fu is weak.

You gave me information about the hardware your media server was running on, but nothing about the version of Plex Media Server that you were running?!?!?

Please don’t take this the wrong way, but I said “The latest build on Windows 10” That is version 1.9.5.4339 if you’re not aware.

Let’s just put a pin in this. I signed up to test tuners, and it seems to have unlocked the mode where you can add more “DVRs” to the pool. I deleted both DVRs and re-added them, and it may now be seeing all tuners.

ETA: I haven’t tested all 4 tuners at once, but it is allowing me to schedule 4 recordings at once without conflicts. I will record 4 programs at once tonight, and make sure it’s all working. I’ll post it here in this post if it works out.

@BaconBehemoth Glas it sounds like you might be working now. Hopefully your tests run successfully. FYI, the reason many ask for the specific version is that we have often found that many are not running the most recent Plex Pass version. They often say I am running the latest version and when they finally provide the version number it is discovered that they are not running the latest Plex Pass version but are running the latest General or Public version. There are often 2 different latest versions available.
