Play count = zero for downloaded music, when server is turned off?

Hi there,

Today before I left home for work I turned off my Synology NAS Plex server because of an announced power cut in my neighbourhood. At work I listened to a freshly downloaded album (Abacab by Genesis to be precise). This album is new in my library so I know for sure that play count was zero this morning. While working I listened through the album three times. When I came home again I started up my server again, and found that only one track had been registered as played, and that was the one song that I rated 5 stars during work. This track got a play count of 3 which is correct. All the other (unrated) tracks still have zero play count. Possibly a bug?

I tried again to listen to downloaded music on my phone, but this time the server was online. All the songs I listened to were counted. So it seems that when the server is offline while listening to downloaded music, no tracks are getting play count? (except if the track is given a rating while playing)

shouldn’t be the case, we remember the plays and send them back when the server comes online again.

The remembering is definitely patchy. I’ve had my server offline a few times and listening to downloaded music generally results in only the last 30 minutes or so (out of several hours) of listening being recorded by the server when it is back online.

I will try to get some logs to help diagnostics.

there shouldn’t be any limitation on the amount of offline plays saved. would love to get to the bottom of any issue if we can figure out how to reproduce.

I’ll set up the circumstances to reproduce and then forward some logs.
