Hi

I need to test playing a video without streaming it, so it needs to be a local file. Is it possible to play a video file that is on a USB Stick or even on the SD card of the PI within RasPlex?

If you install DeadEyeFlint's Plex Black Edition skin there is an option to add 'Play File' to the Home screen, this will allow you to select a file on the SD card.

Suggest you copy the test file to one of the empty folders on the SD card, i.e. Videos.  Make sure you have sufficient space on the card to accommodate the file.
