When viewing the EPG guide for live TV, it would be great to select the next program from a different channel to be watched so that it would automatically switch to the channel say 30-60 seconds before that next program starts. I know I can record a future program from any channel, but I don’t want to record it. I just want the live TV to switch channels so I don’t need to remember, or be close enough to do it myself.
As it approaches, a small indication on the screen somewhere non intrusive could appear as it could be useful and act as a reminder to anyone watching the TV at the time. Something like ‘Playing XYZ in 30s’ with option to cancel or dismiss.
This feature should operate over all media types. That is, if I’m watching a movie from my local collection, or playing music, then it should switch to live TV as I’ve previously specified earlier while looking at the EPG guide.
I’m using Plex on the AppleTV but this feature would be useful to all Plex clients.
