Playback breaks after first 10s on Samsung Tizen 2111

Player Version: Samsung Tizen 2111 (latest as of 11.11.2025)

Plex was working great on my QN90D, but last night I installed the latest update (2111), and now almost all of my 4K streams stop playing after the first 10 seconds. I can see in the server logs that the bandwidth drops to zero, so it’s definitely not a network speed issue. The same movies were streaming without any problems before the upgrade.

The problem seems to be related to audio transcoding. I don’t remember how it was before, but after the update, all audio streams started transcoding regardless of format. Selecting “Force Direct Play” in the settings fixed the issue. Audio is no longer being transcoded, and stream buffering no longer breaks. Definitely seems like a bug in Plex player or server.
