Playback error - An error occurred loading items to play - Photos

Hi all

Recently I’ve been unable to load photos on Plex web player (on shield they will load). I can see my photo thumbnails in the timeline\library but when I click on any photo if throws the error mentioned in the title.

From the server logs it shows this error after I click on a photo: Level: Error Thread: 9888 Message: Exception handled: bad cast

Note that I’ve re-installed Plex server from scratch and this error persists. I did not change any settings prior to this issue occurring either.

Would someone be able to help me out?

I also fall into this category. Issue arose some weeks ago and I suspected that Antivirus was a possible culprit. I no longer think so. I am loath to delete and re-install the plex media server, as I have many movies and tv shows that have been hand curated to my liking. This issue is only with photos.

Issue for me also. I deleted my photo library and recreated it. The same issue continues. Unable to open photos.
