I have an Xbox X and after I watch a tv episode or movie part way through and then come back to it later I start watching it again and then towards the end of the episode or movie I get an sayings playback error.
Why do I get this error.
What does your server run on? Does it have enough RAM to transcode the entire movie?

Its running on windows 10 Pro. and it has 16 GB RAM and Intel i9 Processor.
Can you please enable logging to server in the xbox app then after you get error, get the server logs
Are you pausing the media and coming back to it, or stoping the media, coming back and playing later?
I’ve seen some instances on other clients where if an item is “paused” too long it errors out when playback is resumed.
Both. Some times pausing do go do something for 5 minutes and then come back to it and other times I exit out of plex and turn off my xbox and come back in a day or 2. When I resume from where I left off. It could be 20 minutes into the tv show or movie or 5 minutes. But in any case I will get that error towards the end of the tv show or movie. For example the tv show is a 1hr long and I watch 20 minutes of the show then I stop watching and start watching it again the next day and there’s 40 minutes left the last 3 to 4 minutes of the tv show it gets that error. But in can watch form start to finish 2 or 4 episodes and don’t get any errors. Only happens when I stop watching a tv show or movie in the middle and come back to watch it later and always at the end of a tv show or movie.
So I have had server logging on for a month now. What do want me to do with the logs?

On my Xbox series x I have the same error from picture. All Dolby Vision movies from plex are not played or is played in hdr10 and no sound from AC3 sound. AC3 work if passthrough sound is disabled in Xbox sound settings.
So, we are getting this error as well see pic. and sometimes plex will just close when we click on an episode and plex will just close. I will send you the logs.
Just wanted to say thanks for logs. I did not see anything obvious in them myself but I made a report for it to be looked into though I do not have an ETA. I think this may be a server issue rather than xbox issue if the transcoder is crashing.

Unfortunately, no, we don’t have any updates to provide. I checked and confirmed that the issue is recorded and in the backlog, it just hasn’t had direct attention on it yet.
