Playback error not enough cpu

Hi. This is an odd problem. I use Plex from a remote location on occasion and enable Remote Access when necessary. However, at that location I got “Playback Error: Not enough CPU for conversion of this item.” when trying to play a file. This is a new LG TV 55" (which I couldn’t afford, but bought anyway). I thought the problem must be with my NAS (DS215J).

But when I went upstairs in the same premises and tried the same file on my “cheap” 32" Roku, it played perfectly. It leads me to believe the problem is with the set, not the NAS.

Any ideas on what settings I should check?

Thanks in advance.

In each player – Quality settings controls what the player asks the server to give it.

It is possible for the player to ask the server (your NAS) to do something it can’t (like Always Burn subtitles)

I would set the qualities to highest / “Original” and Subtitles to “Automatic”

I’ll give it a shot. Thanks!

Is the format of movie stored on NAS one supported by the LG? Plex is known to re-encode on the fly and maybe there isn’t enough CPU on the NAS. Alternately the TV may be trying to do the same.

You might try re-encoding the move in the NAS to a different format.

Is there an LG forum to ask about the format?

Have you tried putting the movie in your computer and connecting directly to the TV? That would minimize network issues that might be part of the problem.

Good luck.

I set the Qualities to “Original” and that did the trick! Thanks!!
