@J_Strong - any luck with this? I have the exact same issue where Plex for Windows cannot play live streams served by Xteve, but Plex for Web has no problems. Also have another issues where plex for web can’t playback recorded live streams, but Plex for Windows can! So I have to constantly toggle back and forth between Plex for Web and Plex for Windows. Plex for iOS, thankfully, seems to have no problems with Live and Recorded Live streams
@StealingTime I’m pretty certain the fix will be code based, so will need to be included in a new Plex for Windows build.
Plex have logs of me repro’ing the issue, so hopefully this will happen!
The work around I’m using at the moment, is to disable Direct Play and Direct Stream on the Plex for Windows client.
NB: Your server must be transcode capable.
I am now getting the same issue using the iOS client (v8.21).
If I disable the ‘Allow Direct Play’ option, the stream then plays fine.
Has there been any related changes on this?
If so, they have had a negative affect, given the issue now is affecting a client which previously worked fine.
The problem that was discussed here and referred to the server transcoder development team was for handling this Transcoder error
Error parsing AAC extradata, unable to determine samplerate.
Any other issue giving rise to playback errors / termination would need to be investigated with server logs and client app ios logs
