Hello, when I try to play 24 S01 I keep getting Playback Error: There was an unexpected error during playback. I’ve never had this issue before. I have also uploaded the logs.

Same here with almost identical server and PMP versions under OSX 10.14.5
Did you try to set secure connections under settings - network to disabled. Seemed to solve the issue for some guys, unfortunately not in my case.
I have this issue as well randomly, sometimes remaking my hardlinks has fixed it, I figured it was path length sometimes but even when its the actual files with a shortened path it seems to happen and when it does the library locks with unexpected error as well.
Please turn OFF Verbose logging unless otherwise requested.
Please turn ON DEBUG logging.
These are the defaults and set this way to maximize what we can see for 99% of the cases.
With Logging set, Please recreate and capture fresh logs.

what link is that. I found all type of problems from your end. there is no short statement you can used to tell me was problems. What I will is go back and check all errors and work from there.
The ZIP file I ask for is the one you receive as you Download Logs.

For me to tell you all the possible problems with all their possible solutions would take hours for me to compose. Asking for a comprehensive “How to Fix PMS” list makes no sense because I don’t know your level of mastery.

I just started having the same problem. Began when I needed to rescan broadcast tv for channel changes. Now, can’t play anything. Server is Ubuntu 18.04 and plex version 1.18.0.1913.

Looking at them, I see where PMS knows it needs the transcoder but the transcoder never starts nor do I see the MDE (media decision engine) show its results.
The only thing I do see is the DVR picking up new scheduling at that time.
Have you customized your PMS installation in any way? (username / metadata directory / etc ?)
No, basic install. Issues seem to be intermittent. After a complete power-off and on things seem to be working again, even the one channel that caused all the problems initially. Very strange.
May have spoken too soon. Seems to be broken again…can’t tune in local CBS affiliate on my tuner. Well, now it is multiple stations…
I can’t help with DVR (don’t have cable or OTA television here - SAT only)
If there are issues with regular playback of other media, I can help with those.
DVR/Live TV should be raised in a DVR-tagged thread (create new if you need to)
did not work at all for me. in fact your option jacked my stuff up so bad that I had to reset everything just to reconnect to my server. thanks for nothing
