Playback Error

Server Version 1.40.1.2823-6f60f3a7
Player Version#: 4.69.1

For some strange reason, unknown, my Plex started coming up with unable to load when viewing on my Apple TV. When I looked at the version on my iMac it shows Playback Error unable to load when I try and play anything, in any of the libraries I’ve created, there’s 7 in all. When I try to look at General I get Server settings are unavailable. I tried deleting the the Server & Player & reinstalling but to no avail. Please can anyone help? Please could you be kind and considerate in that I’m not a programmer so anything detailed needs to be explained. Assume I am what I am a user who has enjoyed using Plex & would like to continue to do so but fears I may have to look elsewhere. Thank you.

Considering you have already tried to uninstall Plex Media server. My question would be have you done this correctly?

Please follow this support article exactly.

Then re install Plex and please report back, I believe you had a corrupt database.

The server version you have mentioned is also odd. The current version: 1.25.4.5487

Genius. Many thanks. It looks like the libraries are going to have to be rebuilt but that’s no biggie, compared with the faff of installing something else on everything else! I have Plex on my TV, my Apple TV, my iPads, iPhone & obviously on the iMac so it would have been a real task to find an alternate & install. So, again, many thanks. They should have your response as the first page. It would probably save a lot of people a lot of time. Take care & please stay safe.

Glad it’s all resolved, also it is probably best if you use the newer scanners. Not the Legacy scanners for your Movie and Tv Libraries

This is where I look stupid. What’s Legacy Scanners? I’ve used the ‘scanning’ that is with the libraries. Is there something else I should download? Thanks.

That’s ok, if you have used the default all will be well.
