Playback Issue

Hi there, I’m sorry in advance if I use the wrong words.

I have Plex Media Server installed on a WD MyCloud Pro. Everything was going smoothly until recently. Now when I start a video (I play directly through the Media Server) it starts normal, it says that it’s playing the original file, after about two minutes the screen turns black (except for the Plex UI) and after 30 seconds the playback resumes (it now says that it’s converting it at max quality, and I don’t have the option of playing the original file without conversion anymore) and it buffers a lot (every 45 second I’d say.

It does it with every file, no matter how small or big they are. I still have plenty of room in my NAS (like 9TB) and I don’t think I changed any settings.

Any suggestion on how to solve? This is making me skip Plex and play the file directly via VLC, but I’d love to be able to go back to Plex

What actual server version do you have installed (4.69.1 is the version of Plex Web) and with what client are you experiencing this issue (platform/version)? Same for remote/local streaming?

Hey Tom, sorry for he late reply, but the email went to the spam folder.

I’m a total noob in these things, so if you could assist me I’d appreciate it a lot. The server version is 1.25.6.5577. By client do you mean browser? I’m using the latest version of Safari (15.3) on Mac.

I don’t know how logs work. I’ll try and google it and if I can make sense of what I find I’ll post it here.
