Playback keeps stopping to buffer every 6-7 minutes

A while ago I reported that the plex server would be unable to resume playback if it had been paused for 30 seconds or more. It’ll play out whatever was still buffered and then freeze, forcing you to re-load the web player to resume playback.

Now it’s doing the same thing, without being paused first… it plays for about 6-7 minutes and then the buffer runs out and you have to re-load the web player to resume, where it will play for another 6-7 minutes and freeze again…

Any solutions to this problem would be greatly appreciated.

For what it’s worth, I’m getting the same thing on website clients only. Other devices like phones, tablets and Smart TVs do not get stuck at buffering. In console I see Throttle goes into “Sloth” mode and then never builds a new buffer content.

@FirstGeekDanny try setting transcode seconds to -1 temporarily as shown here:

Same problem for me on Mac OS and Safari. Couple guys over on Reddit reported the same issue on Windows Chrome browsers. CPU and bandwidth all good, playback just stops and nonstop buffer.
