Playback skipping forward on Samsung Tizen 2.4.0 / Client 4.5.1

Server Version#: 1.6.5.1553 and 1.6.5.1552
Player Version#: Client 4.5.1

Hello,

I have been experiencing on one plex client, playback skipping forward to different points in the file, this will occur multiple times during playback. This is relatively new behaviour and I can’t pinpoint it to a particular release, since I don’t tend to use this particular client that much, but it is useful when the wife has kicked me out of the front room. However the introduction of the new interface wouldn’t be that far away from when it first started happening.

So playback will hit a certain point and then jump forward to a minute, 3 minutes 7 minutes, 40 minutes, basically a random time forward. It will occur multiple times in the same file.

I have played 3 files from 2 different plex servers, and files from both plex servers are skipping forward in the same manner on the same client.

I have played the same test files on Plex for Windows (PC) with no problem and I will play back the same files from my other Samsung TV (I am 100% certain their will be no issues there).

The network is all hardwired, though on the client in particular I have switched to wireless, in case the problem was related to the hardwired connection

On my hardwired LAN I have 2 plex servers and 3 plex clients and tests have been run to both servers from all clients. I could add an android phone/fire hd tablet and surface pro if that would help. However the devices are as below:-

1. Server - Wired LAN connection
Synology DS2413+
Running Plex 1.16.5.1553

2. Server - Wired LAN connection
Synology DS918+
Running Plex 1.16.5.1552

3. Client (Not skipping) - Wired LAN connection
PC - running Plex On Windows V1.3.1.916

4. Client (Skipping) - Wired LAN connection & Wireless LAN connection
Samsung UE43KS7500 2017 (TV)
Running Plex Client 4.5.1
Running Tizen 2.4.0

5. Client (Not skipping) - Wired LAN connection
Samsung UE40F7000 2013 (TV)
Running Plex For Samsung v 2.011

What extra information can I provide to resolve this issue.

You may want to upgrade your server. I had this problem and it was solved and included in a new server release. Yours is a little old.

Thank you.

I will upgrade one of my servers and re test.

To be fair I had thought of trying that, but I don’t like to upgrade unless there is a need
