Playback stops after few seconds

Server Version#: 1.21.1.3830
Player Version#: 5.6.1

TV Model: Samsung QE55Q70R
TV Firmware#: 1372

Lots of files play correctly on my TV, but I have got a whole TV show causing issues. When I click play, the stream starts and both Plex dashboard and tautulli reports Direct Play, but there is no audio and after few seconds the stream stops without displaying any error. Plex app returns to media selection, proposing the next episode like I finished watching the previous one.

I enabled “Log to server” from the TV, and you’ll find the logs here: Plex-Server+TV-Logs.txt (13.1 KB)

Here’s the first episode NFO: Media.txt (3.3 KB)

I personally don’t see what the client is incapable of playing.

It appears that you don’t let your server perform the in-depth analysis. I recomend you to activate this (if your media storage is not in the cloud, that is).

I wonder if it is something like High Bandwidth via Direct Play on Windows 10
It’s worth performing the test at least on one episode file.

Thank you for the quick reply.

I didn’t find a way to force an in-depth analysis, but I toggled it on and will wait for the next maintenance (got some users streaming movies at the moment so I don’t want to force a maintenance).

I tested the remuxing suggestion, and it worked! Do you know if there is a way to fix the MP4 instead of remuxing all episodes to MKV?

Remuxing to mp4 should work as well, although I don’t know any apps which can do that, except ffmpeg.

Nowadays it shouldn’t make much difference though whether it is mp4 or mkv (unless you are relying on the embedded meta tags in mp4).

I totally forgot about FFMPEG. I will quickly write a script to batch it all.

Again, thank you for the quick answer.

Xmedia Recode can remux to any container you want - or at least a list as long as my arm - mp4 being one of them.

XMR is just a GUI for ffmpeg.

I don’t use ffmpeg - I use XR.
Handbrake is just a GUI for ffmpeg - I use Handbrake.
