Playback stretched on widescreen (>16:9) anamorphic videos

Player Version#: 3.13.13 (also tested on 5.0.0 early access) running on Vizio SmartCast 9.0.7.3

I’m getting two odd results when using the default settings on my SmartCast.

  1. Any video that is 2.35:1 aspect ratio (and probably anything wider than 16:9) is getting stretched vertically. It does not stretch all the way to 16:9, but it is noticeably taller than 2.35:1. I have pictures if it’s possible to provide them.

  2. Choosing resume playback will never work for any video, and it will always restart from 0:00 with each play after briefly displaying the resume time while trying to load the movie. This second issue seems to be cured by the 5.0.0 early access.

The most interesting part of this that both issues go away if I force my server to transcode the video (either by unchecking direct play/stream or adding subtitles or etc.). I have checked that the direct play works fine on a different Roku device.
