Every so often Plex fails to release a channel after it is viewed and so it leaves plex recording live channel. for some reason this then stacks up so it can show 5 or 6 recording instances when nothing is actually recording. Doesnt seem to be channel specific.

In the past I’ve seen this when I’d configured my DVR device settings to convert video while recording. You may want to try disabling it, if enabled:

i didnt have this on mine but i did have the option for original quality or varying transcoding qualities. I had it on the default, highest quality but ive changed it to original quality to see if that sorts it out
I am having the same issue here. Basically Plex reports a playback issue on live TV and then the session does not close out. I’ve attached my log filesPlex Media Server Logs_2021-04-15_08-38-39.zip (7.2 MB). I have an HD HomeRun Extend for a tuner.
This has been an ongoing issue since last year, though it didn’t affect me then since I didn’t use Live TV & DVR yet. However now I experience it.
It seems to happen when one doesn’t let a channel finish loading and switches to another. Interrupting a load causes one instance to appear in the Dashboard. So if you have a channel you accidentally changed to, or a channel you know has issues… just let it load or time out.
In some instances, this has prevented me from then tuning to any other channel.
The only fix so far is to restart PMS.
