Hi, for a while now Plex has had issues where I try to open a live TV session and I’m greeted by “playback error, this live TV session has ended”, which is very frustrating! I’ve tried using different computers as servers, different TV tuners, Plex on the web and desktop app and can’t find a way to get a reliable start to a live TV session. If it starts then at a random amount of time after starting it will drop the connection with the same error. Has anyone else had this issue?

Yes. Frequently with several clients (Plex player for mac, the web player, LG webOS). No issues with Roku and Android.

I have also had this issue, mainly using a windows based desktop to view Plex on.

I’m also having this issue. It’s infuriating! I can watch TV just fine in the HDHomerun apps but the moment I go to Plex it works for random amount of time before spitting out that error. It also seems to muck up my recordings, sometimes I’ll get the whole show or sometimes I get 2 mins of a show. I’d love to know how to fix it as this was the whole reason I bought a lifetime plex pass and I’m feeling a bit conned here after searching the web and seeing people with the issue and no reported fix.

It is usually an issue when I have paused the stream, but today it crashed multiple times with the “This live TV session has ended” message when streaing live

I’ve had issues with this as well.

My pain point right now and I’m not sure how to resolve it is that the DVR will start recording my show, mainly NBA basketball and more specifically the Phoenix Suns, and it will just cut off and only save the last 45 - 50 minutes of every event.

I’ve attempted reinstalling the DVR by completely removing it from Plex, then settting it backup again. I’ve deleted the DVR schedule and set it up again.

Kind of at a loss and how to get support to be able to get the issue resolved.

I think I resolved my issue. I have 64G of RAM on my TrueNAS SCALE box and was using /dev/shm for /transcode. /dev/shm is limited to 32G of the RAM in total. Apparently I was running out of memory during the transcodes. When I moved /transcode back to local disk, my DVR recordings started to finish again. I’m going to throw an extra SSD into the server and create a pool for transcoding and point it to that.
