I am looking for an IOS remote controllable Plex library player for a whole house audio system. Any suggestions? I have tried to cast back to the server to play content with poor results.
If you need more rooms, buy more devices. You can add several of them to a group and address them at once. From within Plex and several other players.

All Plex clients which do support the Plex companion ‘controller’ role can be used - that includes the iOS app.

Maybe I should ask this. Is there a “remote control” my plex server via and app? I have tried the IOS app and it works great to use as a client to listen to music and watch movies. What I want to do is to play a playlist or an album to my whole house audio system. I need to use the Plex server or another “box” a player but because it is in a media room I have no normal access to a tv screen to pick the content to play. I need something to control the player and provide feedback to what is being played.
If i could contact someone at Plex Corporate, to answer this simple question I would. No number is provided…

I tried out the chromecast audio recently myself. Audio is really good, unfortunately, I had to return them. Chromecast Audio does not support gapless playback. That is a dealbreaker for myself personally.
