First, let me splan. I run playlists on the TV in the living room for the dogs, I do this so they don’t get out of there mind board while I am not home and tear things up. When I am at work I can get to my home network and make sure that one nothing has gone wrong with the playback on my Roku so they don’t end up in the aforementioned state. However, when I am not home, the only remote control I have is on the phone. The app has no ability to remotely control the Roku, nor can I see on the application with my admin account that it is still playing. If and when I am desperate I can use Chrome remote desktop to remote into the server and work some Roku magic from my phone. Can be hard to do with the size of the screen but it works in a pinch.
Now to the point of my post. Is there a possibility to get more remote control access on my players from my Phone player even when I am not on the same network, to control the player on my server? To some extent, I can’t even see on my phone unless I used the web interface on Chrome if the Living room play is still playing anything. FYI I am on iPhone and a Samsung Tablet. so I can use both. but the control for remote players is just there. I have identified this for my home and Dogs but I can think of others times where minor control over the player from my admin account on my server would be very helpful.
Mother in Florida Retired sometimes can figure out how to get to her show. Is just another one. there are a couple of others. I guess this ends up being a sort of development request I hope I have not posted this to the wrong group.
