Would love to see remote control features extend to the Roku devices
Was looking at the remote control features in the new iOS app update and thought, wouldn't this be wonderful if I could use the ipad or whatever iOS device to play stuff on either of my Roku devices, it will pull up my mac mini as a player but can't currently see the roku devices, not even sure if with the roku device this is a possibility.
Roku already has its own iOS remote app to generally controls the unit, it even lets you use the phones keyboard for text input.
I suppose building that into the Plex app would have some advantages but also be a little redundant in ways.
There’s some more info on this in threads in the Roku forum. Implementing the API that makes the Roku show up as a player to iOS is tricky and requires a fair bit of work, but it should be possible and it’s on our list of things to work on.
