Suddenly on startup the player can simply hang unresponsive, or take up to a minute to start. I should clarify. It Never comes up quickly anymore.
I updated the server version earlier this evening, so of course I tried to roll that back and I got a message saying I can’t roll back.
Mine has been doing the same for a while. The cause for me was a mapped network drive that wasn’t connected. As soon as I removed that the Plex app was opening instantly again.
Why it’s hanging when there’s a disconnected network drive is beyond me, and as you can clearly tell you won’t get a response or even an acknowledgement from Plex devs because they’re too busy adding random stuff that no one asked for.

Thank you. I had the Synology NAS Plex runs on as network drive Z:. As soon as I removed that things work perfectly again. What caused it to no longer be mapped and why I can’t map it again? Unknown. I can still move files in and out via the browser so it’s annoying but not a huge loss. Thank you. And yes, it’s easier to add shiny than actually address a problem.
