It’s becoming common these days to do crossover episodes of popular TV shows. For example, Arrow and The Flash have been doing it for a while now, so I’ve been watching them in chronological order, back and forth between the two series. Now with the addition of Legends of Tomorrow, it’s becoming difficult to keep track of.
I noticed in the most recent crossover, there was a little (1), (2), or (3) next to the episode which helped distinguish it. But is there anyway we can link these three episodes and have them sorted in chronological order so I can just push play on them and keep up with all 3?
I don’t think there is an “Official” way of doing it, but I have done this to simulate the chronological order. (I didn’t do it with the last DC crossover, but previous ones, and it worked)
- Create a “Season 00” folder in the Flash (2014) This is a “Specials” folder
- Add the episode “The Flash (2014) - S00E308” to the Season 00 folder. — IMPORTANT! — This is actually a copy or hard link of the “Arrow S05E08” episode.
- Add the episode “The Flash (2014) - S00E309” to the Season 00 folder. — IMPORTANT! — This is actually a copy or hard link of “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow S02E07”
- Since these new special episodes don’t actually exist on the TVDB, no information will show up, so you’ll have to edit them manually. I just copied the Title, Original Air Date and Summary from the corresponding episodes. — IMPORTANT — Make sure you have the proper Original Air Date. This work-around won’t work without that date.
The episodes should play in order now from “On Deck” and show up properly in the “Post Play” screen in most of the apps, and display in order if you have TV episodes filtered/sorted by Air Date. They will NOT appear in the Season 3 episode list of the Flash.
I chose S00E308 and S00E309 to make sure that they will likely never conflict with actual special episodes actually listed at the TVDB. (http://thetvdb.com/?tab=season&seriesid=279121&seasonid=578365&lid=7) The episode 308 was meant to mean Season 3 episode 8 part 2, if you can follow my logic.
Hope it works for you. It IS A WORKAROUND, though, remember… :)>-
