A recent odd behavior. I've only seen it happen with Crackle, but hardly use other channels.
Obviously restarting PHT clears the Play Queue.
Does the video persist in the Play Queue even after watching another video?
The behaviour is not incorrect, just new. Basically, anytime a media item is played it creates (or adds to) a play queue. If the video is persistent in the queue and requires the queue to be manually cleared or PHT to be restarted, that would be a bug.
Investigating further, it’s not even required that the video be played, only that you navigate to the episode details, choose to play, but not select a resolution and instead back out.
The video is removed from the Play Queue when another Crackle video is selected (but not played), and is replaced with that new video.
Just so we are clear, you say when any media item is played it adds it to the Play Queue. Is this only for Crackle and other channels? Because it does not have this behavior on regular items in my library.
if i am correct, as soon as you hit the play button, you will be prompted if you want to clear the Play Queue (if there already one existing).
After you have selected this choice, the Play Queue should be cleared (if there was one existing), no matter if you really played the movie or not.
Sequence that you should observe should be :
(assuming you have an existing PlayQueue)
- Select the movie to play
- You are prompt if you want to clear the Play Queue or not.
- Pick Yes (this will clear PlayQueue)
- You are then prompt to pick the resolution.
- Hit Cancel
-> PQ has been cleared
