Playing iPhone HEVC .mov files

I’ve got a separate programme which syncs my iPhone photos and videos to a plex-readable folder. That works, and windows can play the vids and open the photos no problem so assuming no issue there. I have an iPhone X which is using high efficiency encoding.

Within Plex, I can’t see the photos (known, separate issue), but I’ve just discovered that despite creating thumbnails for the .mov files, and being able to play other x265 encoded files (films, tv shows etc) no problem, it can’t (or won’t) play any of my iPhone movies.

Anyone have a solution?

Mine will play them but it takes forever for it to start playing and then it plays about half a second of the video, then buffers and constantly repeats.
I have a p2000 that has no issue transcoding 4K HDR video files but it can’t seem to handle the videos taken with my iphone.
