I think I want to move towards a decent Plex server on a NAS. I was doing some testing.
The nagging issue is that videos from my iPhone don’t always play on my Android TV. I read that Plex should play almost any format, but the Plex android app on my TV doesn’t seem to. I can transcode them on my computer into .wmv and they do play. I might just do that for everything.
But after I transcode, then I can play them on the basic android video app too. So then it looks like I need to move to the susbscription service of plex to get them to play more than one minute. At that point, if I’m not allowing remote access, is plex just a fancier interface?
My goal is to move towards a decent server interface that plays everything. I think I saw that plex plays high rez audio files too, but I’m not sure how I’d run that on a DAC.
