So this has been a long ongoing issue and figured I would note it today. If I am recording a program on any station and say its 25 minutes into the recording and I decide to play the same station choosing the option of from the start of the broadcast as allowed as opposed to LIVE, it seems once you reach the 25 minute mark while the actual recording say is at the 45 minute mark the following observation behaviors are seen.
1–30 second fast forwarding in the first 25 minutes does not work.
2–once you play up to the 25 minute mark you can’t fast forward beyond into the next 20 minutes of the ongoing recorded program that was made in the meantime with the station playing and then erroring out and stops playing. Sometimes I have seen the fast forward of 30 seconds result in random play points in the first 25 minutes section recorded already and often set to play from the beginning of the live recorded program.
WHAT I WOULD EXPECT.
That fast forward thru commercials in the middle of the first 25 minutes should progress forward without incident and once the 25 minute mark is reached any further fast forward requests should continue into the next 20 minutes or so that have been newly recorded since the play period started. The old WINdows media center player nicely handled this without any issues for watching a program while it was also being recorded.
