I’ve searched the forums looking for an answer to this but most of them regarding this question are from 2017 and earlier so I thought I’d take a stab to see if anyone listening can give me a definitive answer on this and how to do it if possible. If this is possible and has been answered somewhere else, I apologize but I was not able to find it.
Is there a way to play only locally stored trailers before a movie as Cinema Trailers? I want to block all other trailers pulled from the web because the video and audio quality on them, even to this day, is so poor that they’re not worth watching and it sort of ruins the experience. I want Plex to only play trailers which are locally stored.
I’ve named them correctly with -trailer at the end and placed them in the same folder as the movie file, I have “Enable Cinema Trailers” checked for every library, and I have unchecked “Find trailers and extras automatically” for every library. I’ve also seen forum posts that say it’s possible and some that say it’s not possible but I’ve tried everything suggested in those posts with no luck. Just to be clear, the Cinema Trailers feature works right now but I want to set it to only show trailers that I’ve downloaded myself.
Nothing I’ve done seems to work and, like I said, most of the forum posts are from years ago so I’m wondering if anything has been updated to allow this. I also saw it as a feature request but that was back in 2015. Something definitive on this would be greatly appreciated.
