I have my music organised in folders. The reason for this is that I’m collecting new music every day. The newest music is in the newest folder. I want to play the music from these folders. Creating playlist from these folders is a lot extra work which seems unnecessary.
It seems that Plexamp only plays Various artist tracks, seems to decide in which order the tracks are being played and seems to decide what the last track is. So when I’m playing “the folder”, I’m missing a lot of tracks which simply aren’t played. I just want them played from top to bottom. I don’t care about the order, only that all the tracks are being played in the order in which they are listed in the Plexamp app (MacOS or iOS).
Am I doing something wrong or is “playing tracks from folders” just not getting enough love from the developers?
This way you can continue adding music and those additions will be added to the playlist automatically until they are played. Once played, they are removed since they now have a play count that is not zero. All of your tracks should get played at some point.
This is what would be considered the more “officially supported” way of doing that, thank you for pointing it out (and it has the advantage that you don’t need to care about how things are organized on disk).
Hey guys, thank you for your suggestion. I have been messing around with it a bit and it’s doable, but a lot of work though (lots of folders and the dates are not always my friend). I will try to find a workaround for these dates and hopefully I will get it organized in the way it works for me using the smart playlists.
