I have just added managed users to my plex server, but noticed that the playlists I created under the administrative account are not showing up for the managed user accounts. Is there away for them to carry over to the managed user accounts? I am running plex on a qnap nas.
EDIT This was wrong
I think that playlists are supposed to be viewable by Managed users because you can choose them in the options of https://support.plex.tv/articles/manage-recommendations/
However I can’t get them to show up either. What I found when testing this on an iPad is that iOS places the admin’s playlists in a section called Shared
So on my iOS Plex App sidebar, I have pinned
Home
Movies
TV Shows
Playlists
Shared
More >
Playlists from Admin are empty for managed user, but Shared contains them.
I’m not sure if this is intended ![]()
Below is the right one.
Pinning of the Playlists hub has nothing to do with the issue.
It is indeed the case that playlists are exclusive to each user.
Unless the admin explicitly shares a certain playlist. https://support.plex.tv/articles/shared-media/
Check if the playlists you are trying to share are actually “lists of items to play”.
Often they are actually collections of items which belong together but are not necessarily required to play all or to play in-order. Which means that often their original purpose is better served by a Collection. https://support.plex.tv/articles/201273953-collections/
And collections are available to all shared users (unless there are age ratings in play).
Thanks so much.
