Hello, I would like to filter my music library by different genres in order to create a playlist (e.g. a playlist of all albums whose genre contains “Electro”). But I can’t find any way to filter it accordingly. Even the “advanced filters” are no help at all!
Genre filters cannot be evaluated with the “contains” filter, you will need to specify each genre using the “match any” condition like this using Advanced filters:
When you create a filter you have the option to create a playlist or a collection. A playlist will be a flat list of tracks. A collection can be collections of either albums, artists or tracks and I think will be what you’re talking about above.
But there is no possibility to select multiple albums/genres to create a collection out of this :-/
but making stupid jokes of the intelligence of the users. THATS WHAT I LIKE!!! Unable to make good work, but gossip about the users that has to annoy with this stuff! >:(
You can create a smart or regular collection/playlist from an advanced filter. The „smart“ versions will automatically add new items (songs, albums, artists) matching the filter criteria.
While you’re in the regular library view, you can multi-select items and assign them to a playlist, using the add-to button in the multi-select action bar at the top of the library.
Alternatively you can click the pencil from the action bar. On the edit-dialog, switch to the Tags section. There you can assign the selection to an existing collection or create a new one.
This will create a regular playlist/collection respectively with the selected content.
