Really? I’m confused? Where’s my sorting columns, Elan. You gotta provide proof if you wanna contradict me. Filtering is available, yes. But filtering != sorting. And even then, the filtering is based on rules. There are no options in the app to even change from grid to list view. Please show me this sorting under all tracks in PlexAmp that you claim that has the individual Track, Artist, Album, Track Length, and Rating columns.
I want to play nice, but your lack of proof and patronizing tone makes it hard to. All of us that have made arguments against you have provided proof, yet you only provide adhoc or anecdotal evidence and insult us.
I’m here to help make your product better so you can attract a larger audience. You are actively alienating a community for no other reason than blind hubris it would seem. Because I can find no other reason why you would be so stubborn to not prioritize implementing a feature that is a basic standard requirement for the music listening community.
You claim it needs server side support. What server side? Mine? Couldn’t be yours since Plex is locally installed and managed. I don’t have to be connected to the internet to be using Plex so why does server side support keep popping up as a reason? If you mean my local Plex server side, I’m still confused. Do you mean to say that the playlist feature is a completely separate running code from the server itself? Because at this point, you’re missing the feature in the Plex Server itself. Why not throw it up on github and let the community fix that which you seem to be wholly unwilling to do. PlexAmp was a passion project to start, but then you officially started marketing and supporting it. I pay for PlexPass. I am a paying customer. Yet you constantly insult me and the other paying customers. Why?
Thank you for being helpful. It is refreshing that you are addressing concerns even if your first comment was still patronizing. This is not the most obvious location, but it is good to know it exists. Is the playlist feature of the Plex Media Server a separate code block or is it embedded within the library itself? Genuine curiosity into how you are managing the feature within Plex.
Just jumping in, this feature would be very useful. Ideally we should see the same column view for playlists as we do for the library. On top of that have the multi select feature to edit metadata on multiple songs just like you can the library view.
Is there any plans to actually provide this feature? I know you said it’s on your list but given this have been open since 2015, I don’t have much hope. I want plex to be my primary music platform but man iTunes just knows how to let you manage music so much better than plex. If I’m going to love my music I want to love interacting with it as well when I manage it.
Not having this feature is really my main complaint with Plexamp, and is why I can’t use it as my main music app. I would love to see all the basic music sorting features implemented for playlists (artist, title, album, date added, etc.).
Is there any reason why this feature has not been implemented for normal music playlist especially since some sorting capabilities exist for smart playlist? I am trying to use plexamp more for my music collection but find myself resorting back to the likes of Itunes or Samsung Music for listening to my music because of the ability to have playlist sorted and the ease of finding of specific song within that playlist by scrolling. I agree with others here that it seems to be a very basic function to add on the frontend of plex/plexamp but the fact that it has been nearly 9 years for it to be implemented is worrisome.

In regards to the amount of time, my comment was based on when the thread was created which is before I knew about plex/plexamp. Again, no disrespect to anyone but I think sorting is a feature that would help a few of us enjoy the use of music playlist more within plex. Thank you.
I like how instead of proving any information on this clearly ongoing/popular issue, the co-founder of the company decides to reply with sarcasm and ignore your relevant question. This thread started in 2015 - even if we completely ignore Plexamp, there is no way to sort playlists in Plex. I have a strong suspicion a good programmer could implement the server side functionality and rough in a working interface within a couple weeks.
I’m honestly regretting purchasing a plex pass at this point.

I also wonder if this covers the ability to move songs within a playlist without sorting the entire list. This would be useful for when people like the order their playlist is in already and just want to add a single song to the top or insert a song in a specific spot.
We understand Plex doesn’t share plans or roadmaps as a policy, but is it possible to talk out what the implementation ideas are?
