Playlist should be shareable from the admin user, or between users.

Its sad that this post it more than a year old. So no change :frowning:

Sigh. I just added a playlist which I imagined would be shared only to discover that it is not. :neutral:

I just spent forever figuring out how to use the ā€œPlexPlaylistImporterā€ on Github to import my 1500+ song playlist (m3u) from foobar2000 into Plex (there should be a built in way to do this). After finally getting it to work I was surprised as hell to discover that there is no way to then share this playlist with my guest account or any other managed user (my main account has private shit on it).

So I basically wasted my time. I listen to my favorites list on foobar2000 anyway when Iā€™m by myself, I wanted a way to play my favorites list in other rooms when I have guests over.

+1 for the ability to share playlists. Other than preparing for the future, this was the whole reason I looked into Plex.

You could hack this by setting a collection tag on tracks, then creating a smart playlist on that tag. Each user could create the same smart playlist. But I would also like to see shareable playlists.

Yep, just create a tag called PlayList1, PlayList2 etc but use names that make sense for what you are sharing.

You will need to manually create the playlist 1 time for each user but once they are created the admin can add or remove items from each playlist by the use of the tag.

You of course could also create a real library based of the tags as well with symlinks at the system level then share these libs with the users just like any other libs. I show how to do this in the thread in my sig.

Am here for the same reason as the others. I spent countless hours creating curated playlists only to find out managed users (which I made them for in the first place) canā€™t access them. Canā€™t believe you guys have such solid updates but leave such basic features aside. Please, please make it real.

Also, the ability to select a sort-order for dynamically created playlists (by name, or by release date). It currently seems they are added by import date which is useless.

Yes, Iā€™d really like to have a sort as well. Not a big deal on small lists but on bigger lists this would be extremely nice to have.

People having been asking for this for the past 2 years, what the heck is taking so long!? Playlists need a complete overhaul if you ask me, not only should all users be able to access Playlists but they should also be more useful. When I am watching a playlist and then leave the playlist to watch something else, I should be able to go back to the playlist and start where I left off instead of having to scroll all the way through really long Playlists. You should also be able to see the info for each item in the Playlist without leaving the Playlist. Iā€™m sure there is more but I kind of got off topic, give us Playlists for Users, Please!

So this has been an issue since early 2016 and it hasnā€™t been sorted out one way or another yetā€¦ Why? People who use this put good money into a plex pass not to be ignored. When is this going to be sorted out?
