One thing i never use in Plexamp is the Aural Fixations and it is always display at the Top of the Search page.
A great option would be to have the possibility to disable/toggle off the aural fixations. Like this, it would give much more space to see Recents Searches, that seems more pertinent on a Search page 
Also, having Sonic Adventure and Sonic Sage displayed as buttons , side by side, under the Search bar, would give them a more pertient place and again, free spaces for the Recents Searches
