Everytime fresh install of plex can become time consuming. Changing the directory of the media is also not easy and changing the OS on which plex running is also problematic.
The main problem is we all loose if we have changed and locked the meta data in plex. If we miss out something or unable to restore the plex backup data.
I don’t know if anyone asked already. But I am unable to find this feature request.
Please give plex owner option to add media metadata file in media folder which plex can read (or exclusive for plex).
So that even when we install fresh plex, while scanning the media it will scan that metadata file along with media and will keep the changes if we already made before if any. And we don’t have to take backup before or don’t have do changes again. It will make fresh install or even OS changing simple. And if metadata file is not their it will create one metadata file for first time. And will keep the changes we done each time.
This feature will make everything easy for plex owner. So I request this feature in plex server.
So if plex owner want he can add the metadata files in movie or tv series season or music album folder and will be ensured that this metadata will remain always until the media file is with metadata file.
