When adding to a playlist, the existing playlists now seemingly appear in “most recently used” order, making it very difficult to find a specific playlist if it wasn’t recently used. It used to be marginally easier because the playlist was in a lexical order.
A search feature would fix this, but failing that could you at least restore it to lexical order?
Yep. Playlist sort in Plex is horribly broken with this change. It has gotten worse (for Movie/TV collections) because now the apparent “default” sort when attempting to add a movie to a playlist is either by “Updated Date” (which seems USELESS in the vast majority of scenarios) or RANDOM.
Either way, having to manually scroll through the list of playlists and search (BY HAND) for the proper playlist if you have more than ~3 is AWFUL. Making it worse, if you just use the Create option to add a movie to a playlist which DOES already exist, this will CREATE A NEW ONE separate from the existing one.
PLEX: PLEASE FIX THIS.
2022 clean-up: duplicate
While this thread had been created earlier, the other thread is more aligned with the current feature (Add to supporting both collections and playlists; same sorting). I kindly ask you to cast your vote in that other thread while I close this one in order to avoid distracting/dispersing votes. Apologies for the inconvenience.
