Please just allow two lines at least… or add an option to let us specify. Allowing 16 characters max just looks stupid. Imagine a theater marquee replacing anything after that with an ellipsis… it just looks bad.
There’s room to push the year down one more line to show a second title line… it’ll look fine. Sacrificing an easy-to-read full title for a tiny bit of aesthetic uniformity is not a worthy trade-off. If it’s supposed to look good… well, it doesn’t.
I came here to say this. I have a collection of videos that all have a “long” (< 30 characters) preamble, like “so and so’s lectures on such and such: …”. It’s infuriating that I have to look at that and can’t see anything else about the title, while my space is wasted by a huge useless picture and lots of whitespace around it. How about just don’t truncate my titles at all? They’re not optional, the picture and the generous whitespace are optional. Don’t truncate the title AT ALL, at least until you’ve used up all the generous whitespace and the space used for pictures.
Thanks for listening.
Can you leave a screenshot? I’m assuming you’re saying that the titles before the ellipses and the episode cover images look the same so it’s impossible to tell which one you’re clicking into.
