Please stop the constant attempts to report to analytics.plex.tv

The app does connect to the metrics server every 30 secs. Sounds like it is continuing to try when app not in use because things remain unsent due to being blocked,.

I’ll make a report to ask that it stop trying if it continues to fail.

Thank you BigWheel. Can the apps (and server) get an option to disable metrics/tracking completely? As a paid Plex Pass user I should have a say in whether I want to send metrics at all.

Hey @BigWheel , I noticed the app isn’t hammering away so much anymore once the Shield TV is asleep. I recently installed the Nvidia 9.0 update which updates it to Android 11. Perhaps that changed something about the sleeping behavior? When the app is open and device is on I still see the DNS queries every 30 seconds so I’m assuming Plex hasn’t done anything to change this?

Yeah i believe Android 11 takes more control when asleep. I’m not aware of any changes having been made yet on our end
