Please support Plexamp on appletv 4k. (siri play the doors. "playing the doors on plexamp")

I want to be able to click the siri button on the remote and say “play 80s music” and it automatically by default play the 80s music in my plex library on plexamp. this is the kinda thing i paid the lifetime sub for. Have the developers retired?

huh? Plexamp doesn’t run on Apple TV. but it has rich siri support on mobile.

Why wouldn’t you support it? I want to tell Siri to play music. What do you have against Apple TV 4K?

I don’t have anything against the device. Plexamp is not a TV app.

I for one hate the Spotify model where it’s “available on every device, but sucks on all of them”. Do you not have an iPhone or iPad? Just stream Plexamp from there to your Apple TV (which I presume is hooked up to some sort of stereo?), problem solved.

I’d also hoped that PlexAmp would eventually run natively in tvOS. Seems like a natural, since it already runs on iOS.

If I’m playing 24/196 flac files via PlexAmp on macOS or iOS, and then have to use AirPlay 2 to stream it to my AppleTV that’s connected to my main HiFi system, it’s my understanding that it’s getting downsampled to 44.1KHz (the max sample rate AirPlay 2 supports). Apple TV currently supports 48KHz, but newer models may increase that.
