Please verify an assumption - for a newbie

I’m just starting out with Plex. I used to use a system which under the covers used AnyDVD to store full sized ISO files of DVDs and Blurays. I’m now figuring out my file strategy for Plex.

Is there any reason I shouldn’t just covert all of my ISOs to MKV (lossless through MakeMKV) and delete all of the ISOs as a first pass? I believe the only thing I’ll loose is menus + alternate versions. I don’t care about alternate versions (like director’s tracks, etc.). I’ll just pick the 1 I care about.

Thoughts?

Second pass would then either be use Handbrake to transcode to something smaller OR rely on on-the-fly transcoding.

Plex doesn’t support ISOs so you will have to go down one of those pahs either way.

If you happen to care about some of those, you can add them as well.
