looks like I have the same issue on my Windows Server.

Synology 1821+ / DSM 7.1 / PMS 1.27 here, more or less same issue. I updated from 1.26.2 to 1.27.0 fine, watched stuff later that night, fine. Next day (probably after overnight scheduled tasks), libraries appear as ‘something went wrong’ ‘an error has occurred’. Everything seems ok file-wise, but essentially re-scanning and updating all libraries / metadata currently. some libraries are coming back and browsable / playable, others are stubbornly continuing to display error on client side.

Media appearing anew in ‘recently added’ categories can be accessed normally, but weirdly inconsistent across general libraries.

EDIT: Only one of my four main libraries was playing ball as far as scanning, so I just went nuclear and deleted the remaining 3 libraries, re-added them and they seem to scan fine after that point (mainly b/c I use almost no custom metadata and was tired of getting nowhere). Have to re-share libraries with friends, etc.

EDIT 2: So one of the 3 libraries that’s re-scanning does seem to be loading / getting fresh metadata; however if you browse to the default Grid view (using a web browser), you still get the ‘an error has occurred’ message BUT in the Detail or Table view, entries appear and can be clicked on, but playback fails. CURIOUS. Search also seems to work ok for either web or app clients

EDIT 3: so those 3 libraries still weren’t playing ball, so decided to uninstall 1.27 and reinstall 1.26.2, gave it 10 mins or so to load, then error behavior described above went away. Still had to finish rescanning the libraries i nuked, but view / playback errors no longer an issue.
