Server Version#: 1.19.2.2702
Player Version#: Web 4.32.1
Hi there
I have a Plex server that has been running without issue for some years. Content is added a few items at a time and there have been no big additions recently. Today I found that the Recommended tab on all movie libraries says, “There was an unexpected error loading this library”. However the Library tab still shows all movies and I seem to be able to play more or less without issue.
This is happening on all players, on the Web player, iPhone, iPad, AppleTV app - it seems to be across all. I have tried a metadata refresh and optimizing the database but to no avail.
Running Plex Server (PlexPass subscriber) in the official Plex Docker container - server version is 1.19.2.2702.
Any ideas on how to debug this issue or move it forwards?
Ok here’s an update on this issue - I’ve had time to do a bit of digging this morning - the issue only affects libraries that contain movies - all TV shows, music, etc., are all ok. This seems to be related to movie metadata - I found the following in the com.plexapp.agents.themoviedb.log file:
2020-04-25 20:21:42,133 (7fb97973a700) : ERROR (model:205) - Cannot read model from /config/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Metadata/Movies/a/7c444ad5c99ce3ee89496c7f22298c68f0b60a3.bundle/Cont
ents/com.plexapp.agents.themoviedb
I can also see a bunch of these errors in the same log:
Not immediately sure where to look next - am re-attempting a metadata refresh on my movies this afternoon but otherwise the only errors I can find in any of the logs from the last 24 hours are these.
If anyone else experiences this (coupled with the complete disappointment that is discovering that a PlexPass lifetime subscription means you’re still on your own when things go wrong), my issue turned out to be database corruption.
