Plex accessible but regular Apple TV apps aren't

I'll go through the recommended reporting steps if necessary, but thought I'd describe in general what's happening in case anyone has any tips.

 

After having everything work well for a while, lately, when I change the DNS settings to manual and point them to the IP of the machine running the Plex server, I can access Plex through Trailers but none of the regular Apple TV (2nd gen) apps work.

 

Any tips on where to look for clues or troubleshooting advice?

 

I'll begin gathering the info asked for in the issue reporting wiki page.

Please check your Settings.cfg file, parameter ip_dnsmaster, it should contain a valid (and working) IP address of your DNS server. In my own case this is the address of my home's router, which will then access my ISP's DNS servers.
